Recipes: Bagel & cream cheese variations
Bagel consultant Beth George, owner of BYOB Bagels, offers "Sunday Morning" viewers three different recipes for cream cheese spreads to put on that breakfast favorite.
Almond, Oh-Boy! (a.k.a. Warm Ice-Cream)
Ingredients:
1/2 stick of softened cream cheese
1/3 cup Guittard Milk Chocolate Chips, melted on low heat with 1/2 teaspoon of butter
2 Tbls. shredded unsweetened coconut
2 Tbls. toasted sliced almonds
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients with a fork. Spread on your favorite bagel. Store unused amount in covered glass container in the fridge.
A Slice of Pecan Pie
Ingredients:
1/2 stick of softened cream cheese
2 Tbls. raw pecans chopped
1/2 to 1 teaspoon real maple butter or maple syrup
Dried cinnamon, all spice, and ginger to taste
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients together with a fork. Spread on your favorite bagel. Store unused amount in covered glass container in the fridge.
Srirachia Cheddar Makes It Better
Ingredients:
1/2 stick of softened cream cheese
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1-2 teaspoons of Srirachia
Instructions:
Blend altogether with a fork. Spread on your favorite bagel. Store unused amount in covered glass container in the fridge
