Recipe: Tiny Rainbow Birthday Cake
People have really developed a big taste for the "Tiny Kitchen" series, from Santa Monica-based Tastemade. Its videos showing tiny dishes of real food being prepared and served up on tiny sets have been viewed more than 600 million times.
To bake small, you'll need dollhouse-friendly cooking utensils, and a big imagination.
Tiny Rainbow Birthday Cake
Serving size: Uhm, 1
Ingredients:
1/4 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon egg
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon milk
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon rainbow sprinkles
Vanilla frosting
Directions:
1. Mix all cake ingredients, and stir in sprinkles.
2. Pour into a TINY greased cake pan, and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
3. Remove from oven and let cake cool.
4. Slice in half horizontally. Frost the cake and top with sprinkles.
