Recently canceled "Nashville" may live on with renewal by CMT
ABC may be done with the country music drama "Nashville," which recently got the ax, but there's still hope for the show's fans.
Cable network CMT is reportedly in talks to pick up a fifth season of the series, according to the Hollywood Reporter, continuing where it left off at the end of its fourth season, which wrapped up on May 25.
Hulu, Lifetime, Bravo and E! had also reportedly expressed interest in picking up the series, produced by Lionsgate Television, but the country music-themed CMT seems like the most natural fit. An announcement about the move could even come during Wednesday night's CMT Awards, sources say.
