Princess Charlotte to be christened next month
Princess Charlotte, the newborn daughter Prince William and his wife, Kate, will be christened in a private ceremony next month, Kensington Palace announced Friday.
The ceremony is set for July 5 at St. Mary Magdalene Church on Queen Elizabeth II's sprawling Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England. The baby princess will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.
Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, the couple's second child and fourth in line to the throne, was born in London on May 2. The christening will likely be the first time she'll be seen in public since departing the hospital with her parents on the day she was born.
William and Kate left London with Charlotte and older brother Prince George and traveled north shortly after her birth to Anmer Hall, their mansion in Sandringham, where they are expected to be based for the next few years.
