(CBS) Prince William and Kate Middleton, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, grace the cover of next month's Vanity Fair magazine in a never-before-seen photo from before their royal wedding.

The photo was shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino during the couple's engagement photo session last November.

The July issue, which hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on June 2, comes 14 years after William's mother, Princess Diana, was featured in the magazine in a series of now-iconic candid photos, also shot by Testino.

In the inside pages, writer Katie Nicholl reveals new details of the newlyweds, like how William will continue to be addressed as Prince William, which means by default that Middleton will be Princess Catherine.

Her title will be put to the test when the couple embarks on their first official overseas tour to North America next month.

Their 11-day trip, which Middleton is said to be "beyond excited for," will take them across Canada and will be followed by a July 8-10 visit to Los Angeles.
