Prayer vigils to be held on Monday evening for Chardon High School shooting victims

(CBS/WOIO) CHARDON, Ohio - Prayer vigils will be held Monday evening at several Ohio churches for the victims of the Chardon High School shooting, which left one death and four others injured.

A community prayer vigil is scheduled for tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Painesville, reports CBS affiliate WOIO. According to the station, prayer vigils will also be held at the Chardon United Methodist Church and the Lighthouse United Methodist Church.

Several other area churches also plan to hold vigils in light of the shooting, according to various news reports.

The gunman was taken into custody Monday after reportedly surrendering to bystanders about an hour after the shooting.

Earlier today, a Chardon High School student identified the shooter to CBS News as T.J. Lane.

Authorities have not yet officially identified Lane as the shooter, but according to the Associated Press, by early afternoon, police and FBI had surrounded a house in a rural part of Chardon identified in public records as belonging to Thomas Lane.

The student killed in the shooting was identified as Daniel Parmertor.
