Police warn women after assaults in Harvard Square
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Cambridge Police are reminding women in and around the Harvard Square area to be extra careful when they're out walking at night, reports CBS Boston.
The station reports that a string of assaults that stretches back to the middle of the summer seems to have gotten more intense now that students have returned to the Harvard University campus for the fall semester.
The most recent assault happened Tuesday night at around 8:30 p.m., says the station. The victim told police that the suspect bumped into her with his shoulder and then grabbed her behind -- a similar scenario to other incidents in the area occurring since the end of August.
Investigators say many of these attacks are happening around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. at night in and around the heavily populated Harvard Square area.
According to the Boston station, the suspect is described as a black man with a stock build, and around 5 feet, 9 inches tall.
Authorities have arrested other men for similar assaults, but the suspect, or suspects, behind the most recent incidents remain at large, reports the station.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cambridge Police.
