Police: Texas teen set date up to rob him
CORINTH, Texas -- Police in a Dallas suburb say they have an 18-year-old woman in custody who they believe conspired with three other people to rob her date over the weekend, reports CBS DFW.
According to police, the three other suspects -- including two masked gunmen -- are still on the run. Detectives believe Annika Draeger set up her date to be robbed while she was at his apartment in Corinth on Sunday, reports the station.
According to an official, the victim met Draeger on Saturday and agreed to meet at a nearby McDonald's the next day. From there, they reportedly went to his apartment.
Police say that while the two were on the couch, two masked suspects with guns barged into the apartment. The victim was then told to get down as his hands and ankles were bound by tape.
The gunmen then reportedly asked for the victim's ATM pin number before stealing his cellphone and leaving the victim blindfolded and bound.
Police told the station that the victim was terrified and angry -- but fortunately alive.
A third man is also believed to be involved, reports CBS DFW.
Police say they are confident the three suspects will be caught, but officials are urging others take extra precautions for their own personal safety by not inviting strangers into their homes, according to CBS DFW.
