Police search for man suspected of shooting Nashville councilman

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police are searching for the 19-year-old who they believe shot Councilman Loniel Greene, Jr. on Nov. 5 and is armed and hiding in the Nashville area, reports CBS affiliate WTVF.

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Brandon Hunt-Clark in the case, according to the station.

According to police, Hunt-Clark was one of two men who approached Greene near a gas station on the day the councilman was shot. Authorities have released surveillance pictures of him.

The suspect was convicted of felony car burglary in May 2014 and received a one-year sentence. He was also convicted in January of misdemeanor drug possession, according to WTVF.

Greene was released from the hospital on Tuesday and continues to recover from the shooting. He told police he thought he recognized one of the two men who approached him as a relative.
