Police officer shot in South Carolina
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. -- An officer has been shot in the central South Carolina city of West Columbia, and police were still searching for the shooter on Tuesday afternoon, reports CBS affiliate WLTX.
According to the station, the cause of the incident has not yet been released, and the condition of the injured officer is not yet known. The incident reportedly took place on Hudson Street, in the city adjacent to the state capital, Columbia.
The station reported that neighbors saw a heavy police presence in the area, with multiple officers with guns drawn.
