Police: Ind. dad charged in beating death of 4-year-old son
Indianapolis, Ind.--An Indianapolis man has been charged with murder after he admitted to repeatedly beating his 4-year-old son, leading to the boy's death Saturday, CBS affiliate WISH-TV reports.
Dennis Price, 29, called police shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday and said his child took pills, was unconscious and not breathing, reports WISH-TV.
The boy was taken to a local hospital where he died.
The child suffered what appeared to be a number of blunt force traumatic injuries over his entire body, according to court documents cited by WISH-TV.
Price allegedly told police that over the previous few days, he repeatedly punched his son and whipped him with a belt.
WISH-TV reports that Price allegedly told detectives he gave the child Ibuprofen and that he waited more than 10 minutes before calling 911.
Detectives went back to the home and recovered a bottle of Ibuprofen and three belts.
Price has been charged with murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and battery resulting in the death of a person less than 14 years of age.
