Burlington Township Police Director Walter Corter on Wednesday said police were told the 18-year-old may have wanted to harm herself.

Sarah's parents say their daughter had nothing to be upset about and when she left, supposedly for school, on Monday and that nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Her mother Laurie Townsend told CBS station KYW that doesn't believe her daughter would try to harm herself. She says Sarah was in good spirits days before she disappeared.

"Sarah is going to two proms this year. Before this happened she was trying on dresses," Laurie Townsend told the station. "That's not a child that's planning to run away, in my opinion."

Sarah's friends returned to Green Acres Park to conduct their own search. Sarah's boyfriend Matt Welch was the one who found her car on Monday.

They've been posting flyers and even started a Facebook page dedicated to finding out what happened.

Police are urging anyone who might know what happened to Sarah to contact Burlington County police immediately at 609-239-5896.
