Police dive team finds decomposed body in a car at the bottom of NJ reservoir, report says
(CBS/AP) WEST MILFORD, N.J. - Authorities have not identified the decomposed body of a woman found in a car that was submerged in a northern New Jersey reservoir.
A West Milford police dive team that was training in the Monksville Reservoir made the discovery in 18 feet of water on Wednesday afternoon.
According to CBS New York, the car was covered in mud and the front windshield and hood were smashed.
The station reports the vehicle's license plate matched the one of Cathy Ann DeBono of Oakland, N.J. The woman was last seen in March 2008 after leaving her home without her wallet or cellphone.
At the time of her disappearance police reportedly said there was no suspicion of foul play.
Investigators are now trying to identify the body. They are also waiting more information from the Passaic County Medical Examiner's Office.
