Police: Calif. woman killed mother-in-law with baseball bat
TARZANA, Calif. -- Police say a 26-year-old California woman struck and killed her mother-in-law with a baseball bat, reports CBS Los Angeles.
An argument between the suspect and the victim broke out in front of the victim's home around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When the suspect allegedly hit the unidentified victim in the head, she fled and the victim was taken to a hospital.
The victim, who was reportedly in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
The suspect, identified as Cecelia Sharkey, was arrested that evening without incident, according to the station.
She was then charged with suspicion of murder and is now being held on $1 million bail.
