Police: 4 Detroit Officers Shot at Precinct
DETROIT - Detroit's police chief says four officers including a commander have been wounded in a shooting at a precinct.
Chief Ralph Godbee says the four do not have life threatening injuries, and it appears all of the officers will be OK.
A gunman opened fire in the Detroit precinct on Sunday. Officers returned fire, killing the man.
Sgt. Todd Eby told the Detroit Free Press that he was sitting at his desk at the precinct when the gunman walked in around 4:20 p.m. with a pistol grip shotgun and opened fire. He said officers shot back at the gunman, killing him.
Media reported the officers were taken to Sinai Grace hospital in Detroit, but attempts to reach the hospital on Sunday were not immediately successful.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens told The Associated Press that she didn't immediately have any information on the shooting.
No other details were immediately available. A news conference was expected Sunday night.
