Poke fun at online life with musical parodies

(CBS News) When you work in the digital field like your blogger here, you end up spending quite a bit of your personal and professional time online. (Go figure, right?) And two major locations you're bound to frequent on a regular basis are Facebook and YouTube. (Also a shocker, I'm sure.) So let's "poke" fun at both starting with the parody above that takes a tongue-in-cheek look at one of our modern social media obsessions in the medium of a Broadway-style musical.

The wonderful, satirical piece entitled "Facebook - The Musical" comes from our good friends, AVByte (aka brother Antonius and Vijay Nazareth), who have been featured here on The Feed many times previously, and stars Elizabeth Oldak, Ben Chavez, Molly GallagherKristen Luzi and Dimitri Moise. And while totally hilarious and fun, I can personally attest to the sadly too-accurate nature of the idea. (And will be checking every hour to see who likes this post.

Up next, we move from the social network of "Shares" and "Likes" to the place where most of the videos getting those originate: YouTube! Another one of our dear friends, Rhett & Linkwho have also been featured many times on The Feed before, decided to test out the accuracy of YouTube captions by singing along to a series of Taylor Swift songs. Can you guess what happens? Well, you're probably right, but I promise it's a lot more amusing to actually see the shenanigans unfold below. Hope you enjoy them both, and make sure to "Like" and "Share" this post with all of your friends! (Sadly, I'm only half-kidding on that last part...)
