Playground arsonist is boy, 11, say Ohio police
(AP) LORAIN, Ohio - An 11-year-old boy in northern Ohio has been charged with setting a playground on fire, according to police.
The blaze burned down a playground structure outside the Washington School in Lorain, west of Cleveland, on Sunday. Authorities said the 11-year-old quickly confessed and was charged with arson.
Witnesses told police that they saw a boy start the fire by spraying lighter fluid on the playground set and lighting it. The boy then ran to his house across the street.
The boy tearfully confessed after police met with him and his grandmother. He was taken to the county juvenile detention facility.
