8 hurt when plane skids off taxiway at Nashville airport
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A Southwest Airlines plane skidded off a taxiway and into a ditch shortly after landing Tuesday night at Nashville's airport, CBS affiliate WTVF reported.
A Southwest spokesperson said the incident happened as Flight 31 from Houston was making its way to the gate, with 133 passengers and five crew members on board.
The FAA said in a statement the Boeing 737 "rolled off a taxiway into the grass and got stuck while taxiing to its gate" around 5:30 p.m.
The Nashville fire department told CBS News eight people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Passengers used stairs to exit the plane and were taken by bus to the terminal, according to the FAA, which was investigating the incident.
