"Pitch Perfect" cast to perform at MTV Movie Awards
The cast of the film "Pitch Perfect" is set to reunite at the MTV Movie Awards later this month, to kick off the show with a performance.
Host Rebel Wilson will be joined by a number of co-stars from the film about competitive college a capella groups, the network announced Thursday. They'll open the awards show with a new mash-up overseen by the film's director, Jason Moore.
Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and the rest of the Bellas and Treblemakers will be there for the performance, MTV said. The announcement didn't mention whether the film's star, Anna Kendrick, would make an appearance.
"I could not be more thrilled for the MTV Movie Awards to be the setting for the 'Pitch Perfect' Bella & Treblemaker reunion," Moore said. "We have something exciting in store for the MTV audience, and I know the cast and the fans are going to really enjoy our first-ever live performance!"
"Pitch Perfect" is nominated for four MTV Movie Awards -- best female performance, best breakthrough performance, best musical moment and best WTF moment.
MTV also announced that "Thrift Shop" duo Macklemore & Lewis will perform their new single "Can't Hold Us" at the show. Selena Gomez was previously announced as another one of the night's performers.
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m. ET.
