Pink to appear at the Oscars

Pink is set for her Oscars debut.

The Grammy-winning singer and actress will make her first appearance at the Academy Awards during this year's ceremony, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced in a press release Friday.

"We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time," said Zadan and Meron. "She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast."

Using her given name, Alecia Moore, the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer was most recently seen acting in the 2013 drama "Thanks for Sharing," also starring Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The producers didn't say if Pink would perform any songs or present an Oscar, only revealing that she would be making a "special appearance" during the telecast.

Anne Hathaway, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence are some of the stars who have been announced as presenters.

Bette Midler, Pharrell Williams, Idina Menzel, Karen O and U2 are some of the acts expected to perform.

Hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, the 86th annual Academy Awards will air live Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
