Pia Toscano, "American Idol" castoff, lands a record deal
(CBS) Being voted out in ninth place on this season of "American Idol" hasn't hurt Pia Toscano's music career.
The singer has been signed to a deal with Interscope Records, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Toscano will release her new single, "This Time," on July 12 and will perform the song during her set on this summer's "American Idol" live tour.
The track comes courtesy of Esther Deen, who has written several songs for Rihanna, THR reports.
She's also working on a debut album, which will come out later this year.
