Personal transport pods unveiled at Heathrow Airport
(CBS) - Navigating your way through an airport can prove to be a nightmare of a time. For one, you have the stress of making it to your gate on time. Mix that with comprehensive security measures and annoying crowds milling about, and you have yourself a recipe for anxiety. Any improvement is welcomed with open arms.
Lucky for patrons at Heathrow Airport in London, there's a new upgrade. Check out these personal transport pods. Pretty fab, huh?!
Each pod is battery-powered and charges when it's not in use. These cute vehicles, which are completely computer-controlled - don't worry if you're not tech savvy, arrive on demand and non-stop to take you from the airport's parking lot to the gates.
In just five minutes, the pod, which comes equipped with four seats, can take you 3.8 kilometers, whereas the buses at Heathrow used to take up to 15 minutes in addition to the 10 to 15 minutes of waiting time alone. You're really cutting out a lot of time spent going from one destination to the next with the transportation update.
Forget airports! Can we use these pods to get to and from work?
