'People' Names 50 Most Beautiful
In: Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Erykah Badu and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Out: John F. Kennedy Jr., Tom Cruise, Michelle Pfeiffer and Mel Gibson.
So says People magazine's annual list of the 50 "most beautiful people in the world."
In addition to the usual actors (Matt Damon, Will Smith), actresses (Halle Berry, Calista Flockhart) and singers (Stevie Nicks), there are a few surprises.
Arundhati Roy, who wrote The God of Small Things, made the list, as did British Prime Minister Tony Blair, 87-year old Titanic star Gloria Stuart and Bernard Parks, the police chief of Los Angeles.
Angeline Jolie, star of the HBO movie Gia, also made the list. She told the magazine one of her beauty secrets: "Sometimes I'll watch TV and go into a lotion trance for an hour. I try to find brands that don't taste bad in case anyone wants to taste me."
The issue hits the newsstands in most cities on Friday.
