Soccer icon Pele hospitalized in Brazil
Brazilian soccer great Pele, hospitalized with a urinary tract infection, has been moved to a special care unit after suffering "clinical instability," Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paolo said in a statement.
The hospital did not provide further details, but said he was not in intensive care.
Jose Fornos Rodrigues, a spokesman for the 74-year-old soccer legend, told Reuters that he had been moved to a different wing of the hospital to get more privacy and that he was "completely fine."
"He was uncomfortable with so many people coming. It'll be quieter now," Rodrigues told Reuters.
The urinary tract infection was diagnosed after the three-time World Cup winner underwent a series of exams after being admitted for a medical evaluation late Monday.
Pele was in the same hospital less than 15 days ago to undergo surgery to remove kidney stones.
