Peggy Rea, TV Character Actress, Dead at 89

(CBS) Character actress Peggy Rea, best known as Brett Butler's mother-in-law in "Grace Under Fire," and Lulu Hogg in "The Dukes of Hazzard," has died at age 89.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she died in Toluca Lake, Calif., on Feb. 5 of complications from congestive heart failure.

Rea 's television career stretches back to 1953, when she appeared in several episodes of "I Love Lucy."

She also appeared in "Dr. Kildare," "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," "Gunsmoke" and "The Red Skelton Hour" and was a regular on "The Waltons" (as Olivia Walton's cousin Rose Burton) and "Step by Step" (as Ivy Baker, the mother of Suzanne Somers' character).

Her film credits include "7 Faces of Dr. Lao," "Strange Bedfellows,""In Country," "Love Field," and "Devil in a Blue Dress."

A Feb. 28 funeral has been scheduled at at Santa Barbara Cemetery
