NEW YORK (CBS) Kevin Klym may only be a "person of interest" to the Miami-Dade police in the murder of former Playboy model Paula Sladewski, but authorities in Michigan want to arrest Klym after he didn't show up to face charges of breaking her nose last month.

Klym was supposed to be in court Jan. 5 on charges of aggravated domestic violence stemming from a Dec. 3, 2009 incident. When he didn't appear to face the music, the 16th District Court in Livonia, Mich. issued a warrant for his arrest.

The domestic violence charges against Klym stem from a confrontation with the former Playboy model while they were visiting family last month.

The burning body of the 26-year-old Sladewski was found in a dumpster in North Miami Sunday night, Jan. 3. She and Klym had been staying at a hotel in Miami Beach. Klym reported her missing later that day, saying they got separated while at a nightclub.

According to an arrest report and court documents obtained by Crimesider in the domestic violence case, Sladewski came back to their hotel room on Dec. 3 to find liquor bottles all over the floor and Klym asleep.

Sladewski told police at the time that when she woke Klym up and confronted him he got angry, and she threatened to call hotel security to have him kicked out. The complaint says she picked up the phone to call security and Klym punched her in the face, breaking her nose and fracturing her cheekbone.

The report states that the phone rang in the room but when Sladewski tried to answer it, Klym knocked it out of her hand so hard that it ripped the cord out of the wall. Sladewski was able to get out of the room but Klym followed her.

The couple was met in the lobby by the police and Klym was arrested. The arrest report also states that five days before this incident, Nov. 28, Klym was arrested in Southfield, Mich., for domestic assault and larceny.

According to the complaint Sladewski said that Klym took cash from her purse and when she confronted him they fought, and he slapped her and ran out of the room. Sladewski later declined to press charges for the larceny but stated that she wanted to pursue the assault case.
