Paula Patton would totally be up for playing She-Hulk

Paula Patton will be the first to admit that she didn't know much about the video game "World of Warcraft" when she picked up the script for Duncan Jones' film adaptation, "Warcraft," so wrapping her head around playing green-skinned human-orc hybrid Garona was more than a little daunting.

But Patton tells CBS News that now that she's got being green down, she's open to more challenges -- in case Marvel is listening.

So now that you've got experience playing a strong, green-skinned warrior, has there been any talk about sending it over to Marvel and suggesting they bring She-Hulk into the mix?

She-Hulk! Oh my God, I never thought of that! I'm game for anything, but we'll see.

"Warcraft" isn't really like anything else you've done.

It's a funny thing that's been going on in my life. A, I just decided that you need to try to enjoy as much as possible of whatever you're doing. But B, this movie -- yeah, you didn't know what you were going to end up with. You have passion, you go into it, you hope and you pray. Then you watch the movie for the first time and it's emotional. Like, "Oh my god, did I f**k it up?"

Anybody's lying to you if they're not in that world of cringing. But then I saw it again in Imax, and I was so glad I did because then I watched it as an audience member, and I was so blown away by the scope of it. And so it's great to be celebrating it and talking about it.

Have you ever done any press junkets for movies you haven't been thrilled about?

You know, there's been one that I liked bits of it but I just knew that it didn't come together. And people were quite honest when they came to the junket and did press, and we already kind of knew. And there was another that was more of a half-and-half thing. I liked parts but I didn't like all of it. But generally I've been enthusiastic about what it is. Generally, yes. Don't even ask, I won't tell you the ones I didn't like.

You're the only main female character in a group of basically a bunch of white guys -- and orcs -- which really makes you stand out. What's it like to be in this ensemble but have that unique position?

I love the role of Garona because it's so complex. She is in both worlds but not accepted in either. She comes from a life of tremendous pain and suffering but is a survivor. She's a slave when we first meet her, and then she finds herself in the human world and her life is changed.

It's weird, you look at it later as a grand theme -- what it means to be a strong woman -- but when you're doing it you're really playing to the character, and that's what drew me to it. In many ways, she's the bridge between these two worlds but she's also on an island. And I think that people can relate to that. A lot of human beings, we live in this world but we don't feel like we can fit in anywhere.

How much discussion was there about finding the balance between orc and human, and were you a part of that process?

That was a decision, whether they were going to make her CGI or whether she was going to be me. This is Duncan's vision, and then you step into it. So you have a slight ability to say what you think, but I would feel wrong to say exactly what would work because it's his world. The only thing I know that I definitely was chiming in on was the tusks. I wanted to be able to speak. They started out a lot larger and I was like, "I can't talk with these on and you're giving me all this dialogue. This is where I have to draw a line in the sand. I need to be able to speak."

We had a lot of hair and makeup tests and things that scared the s**t out of me. Sometimes I looked absolutely insane and not like myself at all. But they ended up going with this version because it plays more to the idea that she could enter the human world and maybe somehow fit in enough and maybe find love. The tusks, though,
