Paramore scores first No. 1 album
Rock trio Paramore scored its first No. 1 album on Billboard's Top 200 chart this week with its new self-titled set, which sold 106,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Singer Hayley Williams tweeted after hearing the news: "Can't even believe today. Thank you so so much to everyone who picked up our album this past week! This is the coolest thing ever. Honestly." She added: "And I'm so happy to be home for this. Can't wait to see my sisters and hug all the rest of my friends I haven't seen yet."
This marks Paramore's first album since 2009's "Brand New Eyes." Paramore topped Brad Paisley, who debuted at No. 2 with "Wheelhouse." Justin Timberlake's latest, "The 20/20 Experience," fell to third place, followed by Blake Shelton's "Based on a True Story" and Eric Church's "Caught in the Act: Live."
