This is second time Oprah came in first; she also held the top honor last year. She reportedly made $315 million from June 2009 to June 2010. Even though her show went off the air and her cable network OWN has had low ratings, she's managed to keep her spot as the 139th richest person in America with an estimated worth of $2.7 billion.

Notably, 2010's second place Beyonce Knowles slipped to the ninth spot - according to Forbes, she made $52 million less in 2011.

Taking her spot was singer and songwriter Lady Gaga. She's closing in on Oprah by earning $90 million this year, and moved up from holding the number four spot in 2010. To see the complete list, head over to Forbes.com.
