Old And New TV Shows On DVD

TV shows continue to be some of the hottest releases on DVD. The Early Show entertainment contributor Laurie Hibberd offers a roundup of the latest, along with her favorite memories, in Friday's Home Theater.

"The Brady Bunch"
The Complete First Season is available on DVD March 1, in a 4-disc DVD set that features all original 23 episodes from that first season in 1969-70.

"Murphy Brown"
"Murphy Brown" - The Complete First Season kicks off the series with Murphy returning to F.Y.I. after drying out at the Betty Ford Clinic. Unique to the series, each episode opened with a different Motown song whose title or lyrics related to the story line. In its nine-year run, this acclaimed sitcom garnered 62 Emmy nominations and 18 wins, four of which were for season one.

Extras include: Murphy Brown: An F.Y.I. Exclusive looks back at season one and how it all began with interviews by creator Diane English, star Candice Bergen and other cast members. Episode Commentary on "Respect" and "Summer of '77" with Diane English and Candice Bergen

"Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"
The Complete First Season features the retrospective documentary, "Back to Bel Air: A Fresh Look," and all 25 "fan-favorite" season one episodes. On specially marked packages, you can also find an on-pack bonus disc that features never-before-released-on-DVD episodes of "The Head of the Class" and "Family Matters" TV series.

"The Jamie Foxx Show"
On "The Jamie Foxx Show," Jamie Foxx stars as "Jamie King," a young man striving for stardom. The Complete First Season features all 22 episodes of season one plus a 15-minute gag reel. An on-pack bonus disc, included in specially marked packages, will feature never-before-released-on-DVD episodes of "Living Single" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" TV shows.

"Full House:"
Set in San Francisco, the Complete First Season kicks off with the never-before-seen pilot, starring actor John Posey as Danny Tanner. The Complete Season features guest appearances by Kristian Alfonso ("Days of Our Lives," "Falcon Crest"); Ed Alonzo ("Saved by the Bell"), comedian Phyllis Diller, Kirk Cameron ("Growing Pains"), singer Stacy Q and Andrea Barber who became a regular, as next door neighbor Kimmy Gibbler.

Extras include:
Original unaired pilot episode "Our First Show" with John Posey in place of Bob Saget. Episode commentary on "Our First Show" and "Mad Money" with Creator Jeff Franklin House of Trivia on episode. "The Miracle of Thanksgiving" (to be accessible via subtitle track).

The "Mad About You" Collection
Featuring a compilation of 22 favorite episodes hand-picked by Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt, this collection debuted Feb. 8 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The four-disc DVD set is available for $39.95 SRP.

It also features guest appearances by Lisa Kudrow, Bruce Willis, Hank Azaria, Cyndi Lauper, Carl Reiner, Sid Caesar, Estelle Getty and more.

"Night Court:"
Includes the first 13 half-hour episodes of the hit series plus special features in this two-disc collector's set. "Night Court" debuted in 1984 and was written by Barney Miller scribe and producer Reinhold Weege.

Night Court: Comedy's Swing Shift, a featurette on the origins of "Night Court" by Creator/Executive Producer Reinhold Weege and Harry Anderson

"Hogan's Heroes"
The Complete First Season arrives on DVD for the first time on March 15, from Paramount Home Entertainment. It features all 32 episodes from the first season.

TV's highest-rated drama for an unbelievable nine consecutive seasons, "Murder, She Wrote:" The Complete First Season arrives on DVD shelves for the first time ever March 29, 2005. The three-disc DVD set, is priced at $49.98 SRP.

"Miami Vice"

It is currently being made into a film starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
