Both sides are expected to present final arguments to a Warren County judge in the non-jury trial Thursday after testimony from a prosecution rebuttal witness. Earlier this week, five former high school students testified they had sexual encounters with Schuler in her home.
According to The Middletown Journal newspaper, a former high school football player testified Monday that he and a friend had sex with Schuler at her home. The student said he had sex with his teacher a total of seven times during five visits.
The student also testified that Schuler served mixed drinks with vodka for him and his friend. They also allegedly smoked pot together, the newspaper reports.
Schuler is charged with 16 counts of sexual battery and three counts of providing alcohol to minors.
Schuler pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Her attorneys say the boys took advantage of Schuler.
Schuler resigned at Mason High School in February after her arrest earlier this year. She was a teacher and athletic trainer at the school since 2000 and had been on paid leave since Jan. 18. This was a week after an anonymous tip triggered the school's investigation.
