Officials: More than 80 cats, 5 dogs found in N.J. apartment
WEST NEW YORK, N.J. -- Police say 82 cats and five dogs were found Friday in one room of a New Jersey apartment, reports CBS New York.
Police received a complaint involving animal hoarding at an apartment around 1 p.m., Mayor Felix Roque confirmed to the station. When they arrived, the animals were found in a 9-by-9-foot room, according to officials.
The animals were all severely ill and dehydrated, officials say.
Two people were arrested, and police were looking for a third late Friday, according to CBS New York.
The city of West New York were reportedly looking for shelters for all the animals.
