Obama's half brother running for office in Kenya
President Obama's half brother Malik Obama plans to run for office in Kenya, Bloomberg News reports.
Malik Obama, who shares the same father as the American president, told a public gathering on Sunday that he plans to run for governor of the western Kenyan county of Siaya in the March 4 national elections. He reportedly said he'll run as an independent and use his relationship with the American president to address issues like poverty and unemployment.
This year's elections will be Kenya's first since 2007, when deadly clashes erupted over election disputes.
