Obama Drops Daughters Off On First Day of School

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(CHICAGO) - The students at the University of Chicago Laboratory School had a surprise this morning when Barack Obama made a brief appearance at the academy. He showed up with his daughters, Malia and Sasha, who arrived for their first day of school.

Although he is running for president, Obama was clearly hoping to remain incognito. He was dressed in all black, including a black jacket and workout pants, and wore his trademark White Sox baseball cap.

The University of Chicago Lab School is an upscale private school on the south side of the city, near Obama's residence. Tuition for elementary school students ranges from $18,000-$20,000, according to the school's website.

Obama heads back to the campaign trail this afternoon with several stops in Michigan, as he tries to make up for lost time during the primary. This is Obama's sixth visit to the state this summer.
