"Ninja Dad" Leaves Son Alone: Pa. police say man left boy home asleep, to play Ninja warrior games
(CBS/AP) SCOTTDALE, Pennsylvania - Think of a reason to leave your 4-year-old child home alone.
Now, consider the possibility that you simply wanted to go outside and make like a ninja warrior on the street with your adult friends. That is what police in southwest Pennsylvania says led 28-year-old Ross Hurst to leave his sleeping 4-year-old son all alone.
The Daily Courier of Connellsville reports that Hurst, who's 28, was charged March 3 after police found him outside about 1:30 a.m. dressed all in black and "playing ninja" on a borough street. Scottdale is about 35 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Police say Scott told them his mother was watching the child, but the boy's grandmother said Hurst never asked her to babysit.
Hurst faces a preliminary hearing March 30 on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
