Nicolas Cage won't be prosecuted for incident in New Orleans
(CBS/WWL/AP) NEW ORLEANS - Actor Nicolas Cage's attorney says he won't face criminal charges stemming from his April 16 arrest in New Orleans for domestic abuse, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness.
The Academy Award-winning actor, who was filming the movie "Medallion" in the city, was arrested in the French Quarter after he allegedly grabbed his wife's arm and pounded on cars in a drunken argument about whether a nearby house was the one they were renting.
He was booked on domestic abuse, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness.
Cage's attorney Harry Rosenberg said that the district attorney's office refused the charges and no prosecution would occur.
"The conduct did not amount to criminal conduct," said a district attorney's office spokesman.
Cage had been set free on $11,000 bond put up by bail bondsman Duane Chapman, aka "Dog the Bounty Hunter," who has his own reality TV show on A&E.
