Nicki Minaj to open the 2014 MTV VMAs
The MTV Video Music Awards will kick off Sunday with what's sure to be an energy-filled performance by Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Jessie J.
The trio of stars will perform their new song, "Bang Bang," live on the show, taking place at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
Grande and Minaj will also do their own segments at the 2014 VMAs. And with Minaj's new "Anaconda" video debuting just a few days before the show, it will be interesting to see if -- and how -- she translates the song to the stage.
Other performers include Usher, Beyonce, 5 Seconds of Summer, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Iggy Azalea.
Beyonce leads the pack of nominees with eight nods and will also take home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, an honor previously given to Britney Spears and Madonna. Eminem is not far behind with seven moonmen nominations.
