Netflix plans to make half of its library original content
When you log onto Netflix, the streaming service wants you to see even more of their own content.
Netflix CFO David Wells said that the company is working toward having 50 percent of its available content be made up of original series and film productions, according to Variety.
“We’ve been on a multiyear transition and evolution toward more of our own content,” Wells said while speaking at a Goldman Sachs-hosted conference Tuesday.
Wells said that Netflix is currently “one-third to halfway” toward reaching that goal. The company has projected an increase in content spending from $5 billion in 2016 to $6 billion in 2017.
