Neighbor: Dog poop dispute may have led to stabbing, shooting
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A South Florida resident said a dispute over dog feces may have led to a fatal stabbing between neighbors Wednesday that resulted in a deputy killing the machete-wielding suspect.
Zulma Sepulveda, who lived near 46-year-old Amado Lago and 60-year-old Mauro Londono in suburban West Palm Beach, told local media outlets the two neighbors had recently been fighting, because Londono's dog allegedly left waste in Lago's yard.
She said the two previously fought over a similar incident eight months ago.
Authorities say Lago fatally stabbed Londono and cut a woman with a machete Wednesday night.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said deputies responding to the incident encountered Lago, and repeatedly asked him to drop the machete, but he refused.
Bradshaw said Lago was shot and killed by a deputy after lunging with his machete at a different deputy who was attending to Londono's body.
