Naomi Watts and Ben Stiller on allure of "While We're Young"
A middle-aged married couple befriends a pair of hipster 20-somethings in the new comedy, "While We're Young."
Naomi Watts and Ben Stiller star as the older couple trying to recapture their youth.
"They start thinking, "Oh wow! We used to be exciting....how did we get to this place where we're almost asleep and bored with our lives?" Watts told CBS News.
Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried, who play the younger couple in "While We're Young," make the aging Gen Xers rethink their choices.
"You think, 'Wow, they're really young and they look at us as old and all of a sudden you're attracted to that because it's the promise of what could have been,'" said Stiller.
And in an interesting bit of casting, Adam Horowitz of Beastie Boys fame is the grown-up voice of reason.
"I just think any film that makes you think and discuss afterwards is a film worth watching," Watts said.
The stars hope the audience agrees.
Noah Baumbach is the director behind the "While We're Young," opening in select theaters on Friday. He previously helmed "Kicking and Screaming," "The Squid and the Whale" and "Frances Ha."
