"Mythbusters" is coming to an end
"Mythbusters" is coming to an end.
The long-running Discovery series will wrap in 2016 after 14 seasons.
"After 248 episodes, 2950 experiments, 1050 myths, and 900 explosions, hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will say goodbye to the series this winter," Discovery announced Wednesday in a statement.
Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman told CBS News back in 2013 how they came up with ideas for the show: "We get story suggestions from fans, from Twitter, from email -- from other TV show hosts. From other TV shows, from movies, viral videos, scientific article abstracts. Every time we come up with something that's remotely interesting, we email it back and forth to each other and our team ... Not all of them are full-blown episode ideas. But they may have a seed in them that might come up later."
The final "Mythbusters" season kicks off Jan. 9, 2016.
