Mutilated body found on Cape Cod beach, D.A. says

SANDWICH, Mass. - A mutilated body was discovered on a Cape Cod beach, the District Attorney's Office announced Thursday, according to CBS Boston.

Officials offered few details about the discovery on Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, Mass., but said a passer-by noticed something suspicious on Wednesday night around 8 p.m. and called police.

The body is believed to have been dumped at the beach, which is being treated as a secondary crime scene, reports the station.

Police have not located what they describe as the initial crime scene. They are continuing to investigate.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Town Neck Beach between Monday and Wednesday to report any suspicious vehicles or unusual activity they might have noticed.
