Muslim immigrant shot dead in Dallas photographing snow
DALLAS - After an Iraqi immigrant was shot dead outside his Dallas apartment Wednesday, the police released video of the suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of Ahmed Al-Jumaili.
Al-Jumaili was shot outside his North Dallas apartment early Wednesday's morning, while he was taking pictures of snow.
The Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the individuals in the video.
Dallas PD is asking that if anyone has information regarding this murder, they are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (214)373-TIPS (8477) or Detective Montenegro at (214)671-3624.
The department told CBS Dallas that all callers can remain anonymous.
Al-Jumaili, 36, had just moved to Dallas from his native Iraq.
Al-Jumaili traveled halfway across the world and was finally reunited with his wife in Texas.
"He had a car and was trying to find a decent job to start his life," said Mohammed Altaae, Al-Jumaili's father-in-law. "We're looking for safe place. Well educated, in a good environment. What he got was a bullet in his heart."
Investigators said they have not ruled out a "bias" motive yet, but do not have any evidence to support it the shooting was a hate crime. Al-Jumaili was a practicing Muslim.
