Monica Beresford-Redman Update: Mexico Hands Body of Slain TV Producer's Wife Over to Family
CANCUN, Mexico (CBS/AP) The attorney general's office of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo officially handed over the body of Monica Beresford-Redman, nee Burgos, to her family late Monday, following the completion of an autopsy.

The state attorney's office in Quintana Roo said that the autopsy revealed that Monica Beresford-Redman choked to death after a blow to the head.
Jeane Burgos, Monica's sister, and Ely Burgos, her mother, had arrived in Cancun last week so that they could claim the slain woman's body.
A hearse arrived Monday night at the morgue where Beresford-Redman's body has been since her death.

The attorney general's office said that her family will accompany her remains back to the United Sates on Wednesday. "They will be able to take the body out on Wednesday. They will not cremate the body here, the mother will take her to United States, " stated Cancun's State Prosecutor Francisco Alor.
On Monday, Jeane Burgos told the press that her family was "satisfied with the work that the authorities in Mexico are doing."
Prosecutors in Mexico said they are awaiting the results from DNA and forensic tests before taking action regarding an arrest. Police have said that Monica's husband, former "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford-Redford, is the prime suspect.
According to Cancun police, the couple was heard fighting the morning of April 5. The next day, Bruce told police that Monica had not returned after going out shopping.
Her body was found three days later in a sewer several hundred feet from the couple's hotel room.
Bruce Beresford-Redman is prohibited from leaving Mexico at least vuntil authorities receive the results from the forensic tests.
