Missing Mom Melanie Parada Calls Home, Says Family
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS) A Fort Lauderdale woman who had been missing since Friday has reportedly called in to her sister. Family members say she is OK.
Melanie Parada called her sister Tuesday night around 5:15 p.m. saying she was in Fort Lauderdale and was OK, says CBS affiliate WFOR-TV.
Angelina woke to find her mother missing and the front door "messed up," Diane Muterspaw, Melanie Parada's mother told Crimesider.
Muterspaw said Parada and her 8-year-old daughter had been locking themselves in the same bedroom at night in fear of a man who had allegedly been harassing Parada. William Panero, the brother of Arthur Panero - the father of Melanie's child Angelina - was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday regarding a restraining order Parada wanted against him.
Melanie Parada's family claims that she has battled with a drug addiction.
