"Minute of Mayhem" for Sex Pistols Manager
Punk rockers around the world were asked to observe a "minute of mayhem" Thursday in honor of late Sex Pistol's manager Malcolm McLaren.
McLaren's son, Joseph Corre, organized this minute for fans to blast music, instead of a more traditional moment of silence, as a fitting tribute to his father's life, reports the BBC News. It was observed today at noon London time (7 a.m. Eastern).
McLaren died earlier this month of mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer. His funeral was set to take place today in Highgate Cemetery, following a procession through the streets of Camden Town, London's punk rock Mecca. The cemetery service will be private but the family has welcomed fans to pay respects during the procession.
A BBC Radio 4 editor compiled his own one-minute musical tribute using pieces of McLaren's songs.
