Milledgeville Union-Recorder Pictures: Cops and Roethlisberger Pose Before QB's Alleged Sex Attack
NEW YORK (CBS) A patrol officer posed for a snapshot with football star Ben Roethlisberger only an hour before he investigated a sexual assault complaint filed against the quarterback, says the Milledgeville Union-Recorder.
Sgt. Jerry Blash, who supposedly wrote a short incident report that failed to name Roethlisberger, posed for a photo with the athlete inside a local bar and then later outside the bar with a group of other officers, said the Milledgeville Union-Recorder.
Police Chief Woodrow Blue wasn't fazed by their actions. He claimed his officers handled the case correctly from the start, said the Recorder.
"The photographs did not and have not affected the investigation at all," said Blue.
Blue claims Blash had little involvement in the investigation, except that he was approached by the alleged victim and wrote the report.
The Union Recorder said the Police Chief stated once the department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation completes their inquiry, the District Attorney will determine on whether to file charges in the case.
