Miley Cyrus to host 2015 MTV Video Music Awards
Just two years ago Miley Cyrus made waves with her twerk-heavy, booty-shaking MTV Video Music Awards performance alongside Robin Thicke. Now the 25-year-old pop star is emceeing this year's ceremony.
Cyrus announced Monday that she's hosting the Aug. 30 awards show. She posted of a photo of herself in an alien costume with boards that read "MTV won't let me perform" and "so I'm hosting this year's VMAs."
Cyrus took home the video of the year honor at the 2014 VMAs for "Wrecking Ball." She again garnered buzz during the show when she invited a young homeless man to the stage to accept the trophy in her place.
This year's MTV VMA nominees will be announced Tuesday.
The 2015 awards show will air live on MTV from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles next month.
