Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer who once bit a man's ear off, is getting behind Donald Trump's presidential campaign in spite of the "crude" remarks the Republican candidate has made about Latinos.
"He should be president of the United States," Tyson said about Trump in an interview on HuffPost Live. Expressing his admiration for Trump's success in the private sector, Tyson said, "Let's run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job."
Asked about Trump's inflammatory remarks over the summer about Mexicans, Tyson said, "It was really crude, and he needs somebody to work with him on how to deliver his messages and stuff." He added, however, that Trump's far from the only person who's occasionally made racist comments. "As far as what he did, he's an average guy like everybody else....He needs time to grow."
Trump continues to take heat for characterizing Mexican immigrants as rapists. Latino advocacy groups have been pressuring NBC to disinvite Trump from hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend.
