Microsoft buys Skype for $8.5 billion The WSJ confirms that Microsoft has agreed to purchase Skype for $8.5 billion. The acquisition has many people speculating about Microsoft's plans for the video-calling service.

Tech blog GigaOm describes why this deal is most beneficial for Facebook and how combing Skype and Kinect technologies could change the way we video chat.

The Govenator and his wife separate CBS News reports that former California governor Arnold Swarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, have separated after 25 years of marriage. In late March, Shriver uploaded a video to YouTube reaching out to the public and asking, "How did you find your transition?...how'd you get through it?" The couple has stated they will take this time to work on the future of their relationship.
